CINEMATIC ECHO EFFECT - HOW DO I DO THIS? 15 Jul 2017 04:25 #89409

I want to learn how to replicate this cinematic audio echo seen at 1:40 of this video:

Do you know what audio overlay I need to apply to get this effect?

Welcome Farrukh to fcp.co :)

needs some minor tinkering, but all done in FCPX:
isolate that yell/make it a single clip, lower (!) its volume
add a 'gap' = alt-W
make both clips a Compound
>> this adds some 'tail' for the following reverb effect:

in the Effects Tab/Audio you'll find CATHEDRAL
add to compound, choose preset 'Grandiose' (<< I love this wording  )
amount to max

adjust compounds volume as needed

Yep, simple reverb effect with some volume envelopes. Very basic. Karsten explained the compound clip making this really easy.

Yeah heaps of reverb with little "dry" signal and more "wet" signal.

Jacking up the diffusion and density parameters will help make it more lush and your looking at something like a cathedral, of a big hall for that kind of texture.

See what's available in the Space Designer.
