Hey all, odd bug here that I was wondering if anyone else could reproduce.

Behavior: When attempting to trim an unselected clip that is in a connected storyline, using the keyboard shortcut (option+]), Final Cut Pro hangs and must be force quit. If the clip is active/selected, the operation completes successfully.

To reproduce, connect a few clips to a clip in the primary storyline, select them and command+G to make a connected storyline, then make sure no clips are selected in that storyline. Place the skimmer over one of those clips and use option+[ or option+] to perform a trim operation.

I don't believe this has ever been an issue in the past. A bug report has been submitted to Apple. If anyone can reproduce this bug, it would be helpful for them to also submit a bug report. It's rather inconvenient to have to select a clip before making an edit, besides it's never good that Final Cut crashes performing a common operation.

Final Cut 10.3.3, MacOS 10.12.4, maxed out 2016 MacBook Pro 15" touch bar

I'm not seeing it. But 10.3.3 is full of odd bugs...

I think I have the same bug. I didn't check exactly how to circumvent it or when it happens and when it does not. but after moving to FCPX 10.3.3 I couldn't edit anything in a secondary storyline, so after a few crashes I went back to 10.3.2.

Thanks for reporting in. If anyone else experiences this behavior, you can avoid it by first selecting the clip and then trimming with keyboard shortcuts, or by trimming with the mouse, or by reverting to version 10.3.2 which doesn't have this bug.
