Hi all - do any of you know of a way to bulk export images out of FCPX?

Perhaps a technique that will export every marker frame as a still? Right now i am repeating the export process for each image which is quite tedious. There seems to be no options between one image at a time and absolutely every frame as an image (image sequence)

I would even appreciate a way to export random full size stills via a third party app - any ideas?

You can try FCPXImageExporter, but I don't know if the latest version works with FCPX 10.3

Thank for you for the suggestion - Unfortunately it simply gives a Source Material Not Supported error

Hey Doug,

You might give PrimariesExporter a try:

www.primariesexporter.com

You can download the free version from the App Store, which will allow you to try it on a few clips, to see if it works for you. If it does, you simply need to purchase the Image Exporter module (30 bucks).

Hi Doug!

Just out of interest in what format/codec is the material you are using?

Cheers!

I'm afraid I don't recall Adam as I posted that 14 months ago

Another round about way might be to open a Quicktime file in Photoshop an in the Movies tab window, convert each QT to a PS layers. From there you can pick and choose what you want. Might take a long time to render but worth looking into.

You could spend a lifetime trying to do it directly from FCP itself but here’s an expedient way to get images from video.

Quicktime Player 7...
1 - Export.
2 - Movie to Image Sequence.
3 - Various Options. (Jpg, PNG, frames per second, depth, target image size, etc)
