What is wrong with 3 tracks of video? I love a challenge, to take technology to a point that pushes the limits, kind of miss the limits of dvcpro 25MB tapes, 1 video, 2 audio tracks, and no on board slow motion...to edit a sequence and to have to figure out slow motion, against tight deadlines, and multiple audio tracks, so that we had the journalist voice on 1 track, interviews and ghost voice on the other, count that 3 voices, 2 audio tracks...2=3? yes...Creative inventive editing...that was fun...now not as much a creative inventive challenge..different...

I am not in favour of project rush...I think it is a waste of time, but I am also a reasonable thinking human, and I cannot deny that there is something to be worried about...

I would say this is Adobes iMovie, nothing wrong with it.
3 tracks of video or not, I have documentaries that only used two tracks of video. ;)

I find it interesting to see Adobe going in this direction. Lets see what will come out of the other camps.

What is there to be worried about?

Ah, "the good old days" syndrome, when only those with tons of money could afford to do video work. Don't miss that at all. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to 8mm and 16mm film.

I miss those days, of editing at 18:55 and the story is block 1 story one-LEAD..19:00.and it is needed in 3 languages...and we are using 126L dvcpro 2 hour tapes...delish...Those were the days you walked out of the edit suite drenched in sweat, fingers bleeding from mashing in and out and auto-edit...no time for a do over...and hoping that color balance was correct....

I would go back in a heart beat...it is only one form of editing, just back then we did not have non linear systems, those came later...

"Project Rush...is it the end of FCPX?"

Yes, because something that is nothing more than Adobe iMovie is a HUGE threat to the world. Apple is doomed! Final Cut will never survive such cutting edge breakthroughs! Let's all give up and go use Adobe! Apple is so stupid, no wonder they're not making any money. The sky is falling.

It's a great idea t be able to edit from anywhere but I wonder how is Apple going to face the problem of storage. How are we going to access files through an iPad Pro that are stored in RAIDs and are in the amounts of terabytes? Or edit from a remote place with no or slow access to the internet?

Well, the same way as with other tools out there or how Apple solved the iTunes store, Photos, and other iCloud services.
Everything is online as proxy or so. it would be cool to see a service where the Proxies are stored on the iCloud that are easily accessible with iPad... edit anywhere.
